But as more and more options open up in the social media and networking space, controlling your brand communications becomes an even bigger challenge. Brand owners and marketeers increasingly need to be brave and &#8216;hand over&#8217; their brands to their customers and prospects. This doesn&#8217;t mean that you cannot exploit these channels to help develop your brand equity. It&#8217;s just a slightly different mindset required &#8211; put yourselves in the shoes of your customer or prospect and try to imagine what life is like in their shoes and use this insight to drive your communications through social networking channels.</p>]]></content:encoded>
