Marketing Matters works with Community Foundation to help people of Dorset
March 4th 2010
The Dorset Communities Fund and the Dorset Philanthropy Awards will be launched at an event hosted by Dame Stephanie Shirley, UK Ambassador for Philanthropy, on Tuesday 9th March, at Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester. Both ventures will directly benefit Dorset-based community initiatives and the people of Dorset.
The Marketing Matters PR team is currently providing sponsored support of the charity and is organising a targeted regional media campaign which will inform local businesses and high net worth individuals about the work of The Community Foundation and the launch of these two new initiatives.
The aim of launching the Dorset Communities Fund is to raise £5million in combination funding to provide long-term sustainable support that develops and strengthens the work of Dorset based charities and support groups. The income of the fund will on be spent on Dorset specific organisations or used to tackle particular Dorset community issues.
The Dorset Philanthropy Awards, which are also being launched at the event, will recognise those Dorset-based people, companies and charitable trusts who’ve generously given their financial support, talents or gifts in kind. They will be launched by Dame Stephanie Shirley on behalf of the Chair and Trustees of The Community Foundation for Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole.
Marketing Matters has a wealth of experience in the charity sector, having worked for the RNLI, the British Tinnitus Association and Help and Care amongst others.
Zoe Thompson, PR Account Director at Marketing Matters, “We believe that our experience in the charity sector ensures we are well placed to assist in The Community Foundation’s goal to achieve awareness of these two new community initiatives. As a Dorset based company we are proud to be working for a local charity which supports vulnerable children and adults within our community.”
